Everyone starts at the bottom

You start with $20. Cash buys a ski mask, a crowbar, lockpicks, a duffel bag, a used pistol, a police scanner and tips from a fence. Get caught or shot and you lose a life, your bag and a fine. Lose all three and you do time: your cash and gear are gone, but everything you learned stays in your head.

Gameplay from the Corner Stop, captured in the current build.

Built to climb

Small enough to learn in one job, deep enough that you keep finding cleaner ways in.

The crime pyramid

Eight jobs from a corner store up to the bank, each unlocked by the one before it, by the people you meet and by what you learn.

Three lives that matter

Busted or downed costs a life, the bag in your hands and a fine. A truly clean job earns a life back.

Case it first

Visit in daylight and write things down: the shift board with the back door code, a sticky note with the safe combo, the clerk's routine, the camera blind spots.

Many ways in

Go in loud with a gun. Pry the back door. Pick the lock. Cut the breaker box to kill the lights and the cameras. Climb the roof hatch. Or wait in line for the clerk to step away.

People who react

Customers browse, queue, chat and phone. Staff have routines and tempers. Some freeze, some run, some call it in, some get brave.

Police as a system

Witnesses, cameras, silent alarms and gunshots each file reports. Units dispatch from believable places, arrive by ETA, set a perimeter and search.

Nobody tells you how to rob it

Every job in Clean Getaway can be done loud, quiet, or somewhere in between. The shop doesn't care. The cameras, the clerk and the police clock do.

Smashing a glass case at the pawn shop

Smash and run

Break the glass, fill the bag, leave before the sirens settle.

  • Fastest payout
  • Alarm and police countdown start immediately
  • Witnesses will talk
Picking a case lock quietly

Go quiet

Pick the locks, cut the cameras and take it one tray at a time.

  • Slower, and you need to learn the routine first
  • No alarm if nobody sees you
  • A clean job earns a life back
Holding up a clerk with a pistol

Talk with a gun

Hold up the clerk and let them open the register and the safe for you.

  • Customers panic and some call it in
  • Mask and weapon change how people react
  • Police dispatch the moment someone phones

How greedy are you?

Every grab takes time, and time is heat. This is the same decision the game puts in front of you inside the pawn shop, boiled down to five buttons.

Eight jobs. Two built.

Everyone starts at the bottom of the crime pyramid. Each job unlocks the next. Tap a job to see what it is and whether you can play it yet.

How a job goes

The same loop runs through every tier, with more to juggle each time. This is the clean version. It rarely goes this smoothly.

  1. Case it by dayNo police in daylight. Walk the place, hold Q on anything useful and it goes in your notebook.
  2. Spend what you haveOpen the laptop at your safehouse. Buy gear and tips, then pick the job.
  3. Rob it at nightYour mask, weapon and behaviour decide how staff react. Hold to grab. Police are already on their way.

Then you climb.

Clear a job and the next one opens. Your cash pays for better gear. Your rank grows. Get greedy and you will find out why the bank is at the top.

Two jobs you can play today

Both of these are playable in the current build. The other six are designed and waiting their turn.

The Corner Stop convenience store at night

Corner Stop

A late-night convenience store with coolers, a stockroom, an office safe, cameras, an alley and a roof. A clerk, a guard and a manager who all behave differently. Case it by day. Rob it at night.

Pays about $300 to $2,000

Inside Golden Arrow Pawn

Golden Arrow Pawn

Glass cases of jewelry, a clerk who owns the place, a back door, five cameras, a glass-break alarm and a safe. More value means more security. Smash it, sneak it, or do both.

Pays about $800 to $6,000
